India's Clean-Energy Leadership Gets a Data-Driven Benchmark at ET Edge Energy Leaders Conclave 2025

India / Global, 2025 — As India accelerates its clean-energy transition, the ET Edge Energy Leaders of India Conclave 2025 brought together the sector's key decision-makers to spotlight the individuals and organizations shaping that shift. Coherent Market Insights (CMI) joined the conclave as Research Partner, contributing a structured methodology to identify and rank the country's most influential energy leaders.

Senior executives, policymakers, innovators, and investors gathered at the event to discuss the technologies, strategies, and partnerships driving India toward a low-carbon, future-ready economy. ET Edge Energy Leaders of India Conclave 2025,Discussions spanned the full breadth of the renewable energy value chain — solar, wind, hydropower, biomass, green hydrogen, energy storage, hybrid systems, and emerging grid technologies — underscoring the conclave's role as a meeting point for the sector's most active voices.

Behind the Rankings: A Two-Phase Methodology

At the conclave, Mr. Mohit Shrivastava, AVP – Research & Consulting at CMI, walked attendees through the research process used to narrow a national field of 1,000 energy leaders down to the 200 most influential names in the sector.

The first phase focused on identification and mapping. CMI's research team drew on public databases, regulatory filings, industry associations including CII, FICCI, and NASSCOM, sustainability reports, trade publications, expert interviews, and professional outreach via platforms such as LinkedIn. Candidates needed at least three years in a strategic leadership role, alignment with specific clean-energy verticals, visible engagement in the sector, and a track record of contributing to renewable capacity growth, technology deployment, or transition initiatives. Importantly, this stage was built to ensure representation across technologies, company sizes, regions, and career stages, with specific attention to emerging leaders under 40.

The second phase involved evaluating the shortlisted 200 profiles against six weighted criteria: Renewable & Clean Energy Impact (30%), Innovation & Technology Impact (20%), Sustainability & Climate Contribution (15%), Leadership Excellence & Governance (15%), Influence & Industry Recognition (10%), and Emerging Leadership (10%). Data was standardized to ensure fair comparison across sectors and company scales, and an independent panel of domain experts scored each profile. A final validation round cross-checked impact claims, leadership qualifications, and recognition history, while desk-level verification — using sources like LinkedIn, MNRE and MoP portals, DISCOM filings, and credible energy-sector media — confirmed the legitimacy and accuracy of each profile.

Why It Matters for the Sector

For an industry moving quickly on multiple fronts from grid modernization to green hydrogen — a transparent, evidence-based method for recognizing leadership carries weight beyond the awards themselves. It offers the sector a reference point for accountability and a benchmark that stakeholders, from investors to policymakers, can treat as credible and independently validated.

CMI frames its involvement as part of a broader effort to support informed decision-making and reinforce the momentum behind India's energy transition.
