This October, our plant nursery is staying open late for something a little different. Evergreen Nursery is hosting Harvest Fest, a Sunset Cocktail Fundraiser benefiting Tandi Family Farms and Beloved Communities Network. Expect live music, garden-fresh bites, and cocktails as the sun goes down, all in support of two local nonprofits working to put fresh, home-grown food within reach of more East Bay families.

A Fundraiser Rooted in Two Years of Partnership

Our relationship with Tandi Family Farms goes back two years and counting. As a community-focused plant nursery, we've partnered with them on the Victory Garden Project and hosted seasonal workshops to help East Bay gardeners grow more of their own food at home. Harvest Fest is our chance to celebrate that partnership in person and put real dollars behind their work.

What Your Ticket Supports

Every ticket, and every extra dollar donated, goes toward turning underused urban spaces into thriving, food-producing community spaces. The evening supports two connected efforts:

• The Beloved Community Garden — a Tandi Family Farms satellite hub in Oakland, created with Beloved Communities Network. Since breaking ground in March 2026, it has already harvested more than 800 pounds of produce for the Melrose Neighborhood Pantry and is on pace to grow over 2,300 pounds a year.

• The Victory Garden Project — Tandi Family Farms' signature initiative, which provides free edible garden installations to the community and has served over 400 youth, teens, and seniors. VGP teaches people how to grow their own food and how to cook what they harvest, and it's expanded 1,000% since launching in 2024.

An Evening at the Nursery

Most people who walk through our gates come for soil, seedlings, and plant advice. This one night, we're turning that same space into an outdoor evening venue, set among our fall plant displays. Expect:

• Heavy hors d'oeuvres featuring seasonal bites made with produce fresh from the partner gardens

• Cocktails and refreshments against an autumn sunset

It's a rare chance to see a working plant nursery after hours, glass in hand, surrounded by the same displays our regular customers shop during the day.
